That’s where Bethany Kramer, author of A Simple Palate, entered GR Mitchell’s portfolio. She’s truly a master of crafting flavorful recipes with everyday ingredients for every kind of eater. In addition to the followership she’s built for her blog, Bethany’s skills (and recipes) have been recognized in media outlets like County Living Magazine, The Oprah Magazine, MSNBC, and various other publications and podcasts.

She spends a lot of time in her kitchen, obviously, so the layout had to be perfect. But the beauty of her cabinetry, countertop, and hardware selections are magazine-worthy. While she drew design inspiration for her kitchen (and more specifically her Yorktowne Cabinetry door style) from an image she had seen in a magazine, her entire home exhibits modern yet mindful updates to the property, which was original erected in the 1800’s.

Where her kitchen now stands resembled a shack when Bethany purchased the New Providence home in 2021. Prior to that, Bethany and her husband were planning a return to the area after living in Los Angeles for several years. Bethany’s mother scouted a fixer-upper that she envisioned would be a great move for the couple. A move which ultimately made them neighbors with her father (owner of C. M. Construction) and mother, who served as Bethany’s contractor on this remodel as well as other updates around the household.

The final product is stunning. A kitchen built for someone who let’s their love for cooking shine while sharing joy with both their closeknit family and a global audience online.
